Novi is one of the first communities in Michigan to provide an online inspection scheduling tool. Contractors and homeowners in Novi can schedule construction inspections using the new Online Inspection Portal. The portal allows users to request all types of inspections, such as building, electrical, plumbing, and heating. The Online Inspection Portal replaces the 24-hour phone hotline.
Users must have their assigned permit number when using the Inspection Portal.
If you are requesting an inspection for the following business day, it must be scheduled by 3:30pm.

Online Permit Payments
The BS&A Online (BS&A) site has a landing page to create an account and begin the online process of applying for permits and scheduling inspections.
In order to utilize all of the features BS&A provides, you must create an online BS&A Account and link it with the contractor record that is established in our Building Department software. This allows you to see all of your permit and inspection history with the City of Novi.
How do I create an online BS&A account?
Click here and follow the registration process. You will be sent an email once your account is created. Once you have clicked on the link in the email your account will be activated.
Once I've created the account, how do I link it with the municipality?
- While logged into your BS&A account, click on the 'Municipalities' button found in top right hand corner of your screen.
- Search for and click on City of Novi.
- Under the Building Department heading (in the tree on the left of your screen), click on View My Activity.
- From here, click on the yellow 'I have a pin' link and enter this pin:
(this pin will link your BS&A account with your City of Novi contractor account)
Once you have created and linked your account, you will be able to log into BS&A at any time to view your activity history, request inspections and apply for permits online.
