Project Jurisdiction: City of Northville
Description:
The City of Northville will be installing water main on Taft Rd between W Morgan Blvd and Galway Dr. This water main will be installed within the public right-of-way on the west side of Taft Rd and will serve as an emergency connection between the City of Northville’s and the City of Novi’s water systems. Construction is expected to begin the week of July 20, 2026.
The contractor performing the work is Main Street Contracting, Inc., and the City’s engineering consultant, OHM Advisors, will oversee construction activities and project communications.
Once the water main is installed, the impacted areas will be restored.
Construction work unavoidably generates dust, noise, and other inconveniences. However, guidelines are in place to minimize impacts on residents, and inspectors will monitor the project daily.
Temporary water service interruptions are expected. Impacted residents will be notified 48 hours in advance.
Construction activities are permitted from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday. Trash, recycling, mail, and deliveries will continue as normal. Areas within the public right-of-way impacted during construction will be restored prior to project completion.
Traffic Control/Detours:
Taft Rd between W Morgan Blvd and Galway Dr will remain accessible. If temporary lane closures are required, traffic will be maintained with the assistance of a flagger.
