The City of Novi is looking to the future by developing the Novi 2050 Strategic Plan.
This plan will help guide City leaders toward a shared vision for the next 25 years – building upon a tradition of excellence and planning for a future we can create together.
This plan will be based on your feedback and ideas. Throughout the process, you’ll have opportunities to engage both online and in-person through questionnaires, pop-up events, and community workshops.
Discovery & Listening (January–February)
Learn together. We’ll kick things off by listening to the community and gathering data about the realities of today - what’s working, what’s changing, and what trends could shape our future. This phase invites residents, businesses, and partners to share experiences, ideas, and data that help ground the planning process in real life.
Visioning & Goal-Setting (March–April)
Imagine Novi’s future—together. Building on what we learned, the community will help define a shared vision for Novi in 2050. Through conversations, workshops, and questionnaires, we’ll identify the big priorities and goals that matter most to residents.
Scenarios & Strategies (May–June)
Explore choices and tradeoffs. We’ll work with the community and City leaders to explore different future scenarios for Novi—testing ideas, weighing options, and discussing what tradeoffs we’re willing to make. This phase is about shaping strategies that reflect community values and set us up for long-term success.
Drafting the Plan (July–October)
Turn ideas into action. The work comes together in a draft plan that serves as a roadmap for future actions. Residents will have opportunities to help refine the plan so it’s clear, realistic, and representative of the community’s shared vision.
Plan Reveal & Community Celebration (October)
Celebrate what we built together. We’ll share the final Novi 2050 plan with the community, celebrate the voices that shaped it, and talk about what comes next. This milestone is about building momentum and staying engaged as Novi shifts from vision to action.
