Start: June 2027
Current Status: Project Planning
End: 2027
Project Jurisdiction: City of Novi

Description:

The City of Novi plans to transform the current four-way stop at 11 Mile Road and Taft Road into a modern single-lane roundabout to enhance traffic safety and efficiency. To accomplish this, the city council is reviewing a $98,000 engineering design contract with OHM Advisors, which will be funded through the Major Street Fund. This infrastructure improvement is largely supported by a $1.4 million federal grant secured via SEMCOG and will be managed alongside the Michigan Department of Transportation. The engineering process will progress through multiple stages, including data collection, base planning, and final plan development, starting immediately and leading up to a construction start date in June 2027.

Construction is planned to begin after school lets out to accommodate adjacent schools, aligning with the project's federal Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement (CMAQ) grant funding designated for fiscal year 2027. Specific completion dates are to be finalized during preliminary plan development
