The largest of the City’s parks, Lakeshore Park offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities and plays host to many community events. Active recreation opportunities include a swimming beach (on Walled Lake, the largest lake in the City) in the summer months, well maintained mountain bike and walking trails, and two play structures. The park is also home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Three picnic shelters are available for community use at the park. Pavilion Shore Park is only a short walk (0.2 miles) from the Lakeshore Park entrance and provides additional amenities to enjoy, such as lake front seating, pathways, fishing and open space. Please note the restrooms are available seasonally May 1 - Nov 1.

Other information
- As of Sept. 2017, there is no entry fee for non-residents.
- There is no boat launch at the park/beach.
- Dogs are not allowed on the beach, but they are allowed in the rest of the park as long as they're on 6-feet leashes.
Lakeshore Parking Lot -
The main parking lot off South Lake Drive from the playground to the trailhead is scheduled for re-construction/expansion. The contractor is estimating a May 1 start and anticipating a 2-week project to be completed before Memorial Day weekend. Access to the area will be blocked from the crosswalk by the playground to the trailhead throughout the duration of the project.
Lakeshore Beach
Lakeshore Beach is open 10am-8pm starting the Saturday of Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Swim at your own risk. No lifeguards on duty.
Mountain Bike Trail
Lakeshore Park's mountain bike trail is approximately 10 miles long and covers a variety of terrain for both the intermediate and experienced rider. In addition to the more challenging mountain bike trail, Lakeshore Park also contains an extensive network of wider trails suited to walking, family biking, and cross-country skiing. The trail head and information kiosk is located at the south end of Lakeshore Park (601 South Lake Drive). Note that motorized vehicles are not permitted anywhere on park property. Kids Single Track Mountain Bike Trail
Just north of the main trail entrance, members of the Motor City Mountain Biking Association constructed a Kids Single Track Mountain Bike Trail in fall 2015. The track is the first of its kind in Michigan and serves children ages 2 and older by providing a safe place to play, ride and develop biking skills.
