The project began the week of June 15 and will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete.
The parking lot and pathways are closed until construction is complete.
Description:
Concrete will be placed over the existing aggregate paths, as well as a new concrete loop around the existing pond to increase accessibility.
Traffic Control/Detours:
No detours will be necessary for this work. The park will be closed for approximately 30 to 45 days during the duration of this project.
Villa Barr Art Park was the home, grounds and studio of Novi sculptor David Barr and his wife, dancer Beth Dwaihy Barr. Now the gardens and sculpture park are free and open to the public, while the home and studio host rotating resident artists. Visitors to Villa Barr Art Park are welcome to walk the gravel path with our self-guided sculpture and botanical tours, picnic by the pond, and appreciate the beauty of the grounds. Photography, meditation, sketching, and dance are just a few of the ways visitors enjoy this beautiful place.
Please note that the home and studios are only open to the public during special events, so please respect the privacy of the artists by not knocking on doors or looking in windows. Check our calendar for upcoming arts events!
Villa Barr Art Park is located at 22600 Napier Rd, Novi, MI 48374. Please note that restrooms at the park are only available May 1- November 1.
