Economic development continues to play an important role in Novi’s growth, development, and quality of life. Economic development ensures the jobs, the vitality and the resources for government to provide public services. The City of Novi continues to attract large-scale business which increases taxable values and creates jobs for its residents. Continuation of retention, expansion, and attraction efforts included the following:
- Focus on personal retention and expansion visits and support (linking to resources) our existing Novi businesses
- Conduct familiarization tour for site selectors
- Maintain partnerships with organizations holding mutual goals
- Report on any recommend changes on any new financial incentives
Novi’s FY 2018/2019 building activity included:
- $129,196,253 value of the 124 commercial building permits issued
- $34,631,235 value of the 158 new residential homes constructed
- $40,705,436 value of the 681 residential home permits issued
