We thank you in advance for your patience as we make investments and improvements that will serve the community into the future.

Road Closure

Throughout the project, one lane of northbound-only traffic on Wixom Rd. will be maintained between 10 Mile Rd. and Grand River. There will be no Southbound traffic allowed on Wixom Rd. during this project. Please follow the posted detour or use an alternate route. Residents living in the work zone on the side being worked on may have intermittent access to their driveways while work is directly in front of their homes.

Detour

The posted detour is east on Grand River; south on Beck Road; and west on 10 Mile Road. This project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2024

Progress

The contractor has finished removing all segments of the existing concrete curb on the southbound side and installed all the necessary subgrade drainage systems. Storm and under-drain are complete on this side of the street.

Last week the contractor started concrete curb placement and concrete base course along the west side (southbound) of Wixom. The curbing contractor has begun pouring the curb on the west side of the road, working from 10 Mile moving north. Once the curb is complete, they plan on final grading aggregate base in preparation for HMA (Asphalt) towards the end of this month.
