Future Forums
The Novi Community Schools seek your input during our State’s
financial crisis. Novi Community Schools’ families, staff, and
community members can get a clear picture of the school district’s
budget, the cost of various programs and services, and offer their
input during a series of five separate “FOCUS ON OUR FUTURE” forums,
sponsored by the Novi Board of Education and the Novi Administration
in February. Remaining forum dates: February 9, 10, 24 & 25

Who Clears
Sidewalks After a Snow?
The City's ordinance requires residents and business owners to clear all ice
and snow from sidewalks within 24 hours of the end of a snow storm with an
accumulation greater than two inches.

Environmental Poster Program
The City of Novi is seeking the help of Novi elementary students to
promote the new Green pages of the City's website. Novi
elementary student can submit an environmental-themed poster to the
City of Novi by February 15, 2010.

Standard & Poor’s confirms AA+ rating and stable condition
The City of Novi received positive financial news for residents and
business members in conjunction with refunding bonds to save on debt
service payments with a confirmed high quality credit rating by
Standard & Poor’s.

Novi strikes GOLD with third
Promoting Active Communities Award
The City of Novi was recognized on January 25, 2010 by the
Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness with a gold level award
through the Promoting Active Communities (PAC) program for the third
year in a row. By using the online PAC assessment to evaluate local
policies, programs, and built environment, the City of Novi has
demonstrated outstanding achievements in making it easy for
individuals to integrate physical activity into daily routines.

sessions of Rhythm Ballroom, Novi Parks offers a class for you!

Solar Panels/Energy & Wind
Turbine Ordinance Amendments & Surveys
Novi is going green and the Community Development Department is
considering 1) a text amendment to address the installation of solar panels at
both residences and businesses throughout the community, and 2) a text amendment
to address the siting and design of wind turbines to harness wind energy.

Novi
is counting on you!
Take 10 minutes to answer 10 questions and be counted in the
United States 2010 Census. All U.S. residents must be counted -
people of all races and ethnic groups, both citizens and
non-citizens. Census day is April 1, 2010. Questionnaires will be
mailed to households in March. Census workers will visit households
that do not return questionnaires.
