1. Case No. 09-001 Filed by Thomas Asmar for Crowne Plaza located at 27000 Sheraton Road

Thomas Asmar is requesting a variance to allow installation of one additional 18 square foot wall sign for the Crowne Plaza Hotel located at 27000 Sheraton Drive. The property is zoned C and is located north of I-96 and west of Novi Road.

CITY OF NOVI, CODE OF ORDINANCES, Section 28-5 (3) no building or parcel of land shall be allowed more than one (1) sign permitted under this section.

2. Case No. 09-002 Filed by Matthew Quinn for 43000 W. Nine Mile Road

Matthew Quinn is requesting an exception from Section 1903.0 to allow an automotive service use adjacent to a residential district, to request consideration by the planning commission, in accordance with 1903.0 for a special land use. The property is zoned I-1 and is located north of Nine Mile Road and east of Novi Road.

CITY CODE OF ORDINANCES, Section 1903.0 Specifies that selected automotive service establishments "shall be permitted where the proposed site does not abut a residentially zoned district, subject to approval by the Planning Commission in accordance with the additional requirements of Section 2516.2 for special land uses, and with the public hearing requirements set forth and regulated in Section 3006 of this Ordinance"
