REGULAR MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NOVI

MONDAY, MAY 8, 1995 AT 8:00 p.m. EST

COUNCIL CHAMBERS - N0VI CIVIC CENTER - 45175 W. TEN MILE ROAD

 

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 p.m. with Mayor McLallen presiding.

 

Council pledged allegiance to the flag.

 

 

ROLL CALL: Council Members Crawford (present), Mason (absent/excused), Mitzel (present), Pope (absent/excused), Schmid (present), Toth (present) and Mayor McLallen (present)

Mayor McLallen announced that Councilman Pope was involved in an extremely serious accident at 10:30 a.m. on Grand River in New Hudson. She said he was in the trauma center at the University of Michigan.

 

Mayor McLallen asked for everyone's prayers for Councilman Pope and his family at this time.

 

Mayor McLallen stated that because of the seriousness of this issue Council would take a vote to move tonight's business to Monday, May 15.

 

Mayor McLallen stated the only order of business this evening is that the Chair would entertain a motion to move the Public Hearing for the 1995-96 Budget to next Monday, May 15 and because of contractual arrangements Mayor McLallen called for a motion to approve Warrant #438.

 

It was then,

 

Moved by Councilman Crawford

Seconded by Councilman Mitzel

 

That the Public Hearing on the Truth in Taxation and the Public Hearing on the 1995-96 Budget, as well as all items listed on the agenda be rescheduled to May 15, 1995 at 8:00 p.m. and that Warrant #438 be approved for payment.

 

Yes (5) No (0) Absent (2-Pope, Mason) Motion carried

 

 

Mayor McLallen adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m. and she urged everyone to remember Councilman Pope and his family in their prayers.
