Simple Recycling

Simple Recycling will be suspending their bagged clothing collection services, effective Nov. 23, due to health, safety and business concerns related to COVID-19. At this time and because of the fluidity of the situation, it is difficult to say when these services will resume. You are encouraged to check with your local thrift stores, missions, and places of worship to see if donations are being accepted at this time and to consider if your items can be reused and/or repurposed. Novi is the ninth Resource Recovery and Recycling Authority of Southwest Oakland County member community to offer curbside clothing recycling through Simple Recycling. Residents receiving curbside trash and recycling services will receive two orange bags they simply can fill with unwanted clothing, textiles and other household items and place at the curb on their regular collection day. Simple Recycling will collect the orange bags and leave replacement ones behind.

This service is being offered in addition to current Waste Management recycling efforts at no cost to residents. It also is not meant to dissuade donations to charitable organizations, rather provide an additional, convenient option to discard unwanted items instead of them ending up in landfills.

Please note, only items placed inside the bags or tagged with Simple Recycling labels will be collected.
