September 2015 - Officer Brady Rees
Officer Brady Rees
The Novi Public Safety Administration would like to extend our appreciation and congratulations to Officer Brady Rees on his nomination and selection as the Novi Public Safety Employee of the month, September 2015. Officer Rees was nominated and overwhelmingly selected by the Implementation Committee for your initiative, police instincts, and attention to detail which resulted in the capture of a home invasion suspect.
On September 26th, two residences in Farmington Hills were broken into. The first structure was unoccupied, however the second was not. The two homeowners, a husband and his wife, were asleep in their bedroom when they were suddenly awakened at 2:00 a.m. by the sound of their front door being smashed in. The terrified owners hid while their home was ransacked; afraid for their lives they were able to call 911 without detection. Officer Rees was dispatched to the area to assist the Farmington Hills Police Department. While driving to the scene, he saw a pedestrian who appeared to match the description of one suspect. Officer Rees questioned the subject and when his answers further aroused his suspicions he requested that units from Farmington Hills respond. Upon further questioning it was determined that the person Officer Rees had stopped was one of the perpetrators, who was arrested.
Because of Officer Rees intuitiveness and perceptiveness, a dangerous felon was removed from the streets. The victims of the recent break-ins can rest a little easier knowing the person who violated their home, is no longer walking the streets.
