Officer Jon Zabick
The Novi Public Safety Administration would like to extend our appreciation and congratulations to School Resource Officer Jon Zabick on his nomination and selection as the Novi Public Safety Employee of the Month - May 2015. SRO Zabick was nominated and unanimously selected by the Implementation Committee for his commitment and conscientious work on behalf of the Novi Police Department and the Novi School District.
On May 25th, the Novi Police Department received an email from Principal Nicole Carter at the Novi High School. In the correspondence, Principal Carter expressed gratitude from the school community for SRO Zabick’s commitment and dedication to the student population. Ms. Carter shared that SRO Zabick has arrived as early as four-o’clock in the morning to walk the school grounds and that he is the first to arrive on scene for both medical calls and criminal events. Additionally, Principal Carter complimented SRO Zabick’s calm demeanor and his capacity to diffuse an elevated or chaotic situation due to his connection and rapport with the students. Ms. Carter stated “We trust and believe that our students and staff are in good hands when we cannot be present.” The remarks from Principal Carter speak volumes to the admiration, appreciation, and level of respect the school has in SRO Zabick’s performance; they are confident placing the students, their most precious resource, under his watch when they are unavailable.
SRO Zabick’s performance as School Resource Officer has not been a surprise to anyone at the Police Department; we have seen first-hand his work as a police officer and know what a dedicated and committed member of the team he is. SRO Zabick is an ethical individual, a lifelong learner, a wonderful father and husband, and a faithful detective who truly cares about making Novi a safer place for students and residents. Because of his efforts, it is with great pride the members of the Novi Public Safety Team, and the Novi Community recognize his outstanding work.
