July 2014 - Officer Michael Daisley
Officer Michael Daisley
Officer Michael Daisley was selected as Novi Public Safety Employee of the Month for July, 2014. Officer Daisley was nominated by both Sergeant Gilmore and Sergeant Edgar as a result of an early morning arrest of three suspects for Larceny from Auto.
On July 7, 2014 at approximately 12:17am, Officer Daisley was patrolling the Springs Apartment complex. During the course of his patrol, Officer Daisley observed a Ford F-150 pickup, which had three wheels missing. Immediately, Officer Daisley searched the area and discovered three subjects hiding in a vehicle parked nearby. Laying on the blacktop next to the suspects’ vehicle, Officer Daisley located one of the lug nuts from the Ford F-150, along with the three missing tires and wheels. The remaining stolen lug nuts were found inside the glove box of the suspect’s vehicle and a lug wrench was found in the back of the suspects’ car. Officer Daisley arrested all three suspects and brought them back to the police department. Upon being questioned, the suspects confessed to taking the tires off the F-150. A warrant was obtained from the Oakland County Prosecutors Office for Larceny from Auto for all three suspects.
This incident is an example of the professionalism and diligence that Officer Daisley shows on a daily basis. Officer Daisley’s deliberate patrols in this targeted area was a strategic response to prior criminal activities taking place. Officer Daisley’s active touring strategies exposed this crime in progress. Once Officer Daisley began his investigation, his attention to detail produced the evidence necessary to arrest the three suspects. It is with great pride that we join the rest of the Public Safety team and the Novi Community in recognizing the outstanding work of Officer Michael Daisley.
