Every other year since 2006, the City of Novi has contracted with the National Research Center (NRC) to perform the Citizen Survey. The statistically valid survey provides an opportunity to connect with community members and gain a better understanding with qualified data of opinions on City services and the perceptions of quality of life. The results are used by Novi leaders to identify challenges and to plan for and evaluate improvements and to sustain services and amenities for long-term success.
Almost all residents rated the quality of life in Novi as excellent or good. Details that support these findings are contained in the Livability Report, starting with the ratings for Community Characteristics, Governance and Participation and ending with results for Novi’s unique questions.

The National Citizen Survey™ (The NCS) is a collaborative effort between National Research Center, Inc. (NRC) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). The NCS was developed by NRC to provide a statistically valid survey of resident opinions about community and services provided by local government. The survey results may be used by staff, elected officials and other stakeholders for community planning and resource allocation, program improvement and policy making.
The NCS focuses on a series of community characteristics and local government services, as well as issues of public trust. Resident behaviors related to civic engagement in the community also were measured in the survey. Read the full reports below.
