The Novi Police Department has earned the coveted 2009 Award for Excellence in

City of Novi receives
national distinction for Police Services
Earlier this month, the International City/County Management
Association (ICMA) and National Research Center, Inc. (NRC),
recognized 19 communities for their use of citizen surveys to
influence service quality. The City of Novi was recognized with a
Voice of the People Award for Excellence in Police Services.

Public Safety Staffing & Utilization Study
In 2009, the City of Novi commissioned the ICMA to conduct a
Staffing and Utilization Study for Police and Fire/EMS services.
These studies were performed to help answer the questions, "How
are we using the resources we have for Police and Fire/EMS?” and
“How can we better use those resources?” The reviews are of our
most critical, complex, and expensive functions and done to
reassure that we are staffed, resources are utilized, and the
residents are receiving the best possible service with the
resources we have without unnecessary additions. The
recommendations are posted here in their entirety. For more
information,
contact Sheryl Walsh, Director of Communications.
