Meadowbrook Lake Dam Improvement Project
This project would also address drainage issues at the southwest corner of the lake that occur during storm events. By constructing a more defined swale to carry runoff around the dam, it will not only protect the integrity of the dam during flood conditions, but would facilitate positive drainage across the properties on the west side of the dam. These modifications would reduce the possibility of dam failure during storm events and help protect the river downstream of the dam from stream bank erosion. Other improvements proposed as part of this project include improved access to the concrete spillway, improved armoring of the meanders in the stream below the dam to prevent bank erosion, and replacement of the existing flap gates on the dam with sluice gates to allow for a cold water release for improved habitat downstream.
