Heat Related Preparedness & Precautions
Heat related illnesses are dangerous and everyone should prepare
and take precautions for themselves, families and pets. As we
continue to move into the summer hot and humid conditions can
make it difficult to function and can cause life threatening
conditions. These hot and humid conditions can have a large
impact on any outdoor activity with heat stress becoming a
factor.

Public Safety Staffing & Utilization Study
In 2009, the City of Novi commissioned the ICMA to conduct a
Staffing and Utilization Study for Police and Fire/EMS services.
These studies were performed to help answer the questions, "How
are we using the resources we have for Police and Fire/EMS?” and
“How can we better use those resources?” The reviews are of our
most critical, complex, and expensive functions and done to
reassure that we are staffed, resources are utilized, and the
residents are receiving the best possible service with the
resources we have without unnecessary additions. The
recommendations are posted here in their entirety. For more
information,
contact Sheryl Walsh, Director of Communications.
