SOCIAL ACTIVITIES |
PEN PALS
The Pen Pal
Program is presented in partnership with Novi Community
School District. For the past 15 years it has provided 1st and
2nd graders an opportunity to write to a Pen Pal for the
full school year and meet at a lunch in May. It is a great way
to connect with children right here in Novi and provide children
a real-life lesson in Social Studies, Language Arts, Geography
and more. We are seeking older adults to be Pen Pals with
elementary school children for the upcoming school year, contact

SECOND ANNUAL FABULOUS 50’S EXTRAVAGANZA!!!

partnership with White Lake (Dublin), Highland, Milford,
Northfield, South Lyon and Wixom Senior Centers. WPON AM 1460 DJ

NOVI HEALTH FAIR “HEALTHY BY
CHOICE”

Novi Senior Services department is seeking area health care providers to
host booths at the Fair. The reservation fee is $50. Each booth consists
of a 6’ table and two chairs. The reservation deadline is September 22,
2010.

Join us for our third annual Novi Health Fair –
“Healthy By Choice.” Get all the health related information you
need from area health care providers to be “healthy by choice.”
The fair features 40+ booths hosted by informational exhibitors
as well as free health screening and free informational
workshops. Flu shots will be available for adults and children
and given on a first come, first serve basis. Flu Shot price is
$25 without insurance or free with Medicare Part B, Medicare
Advantage, Blue Care Network, HAP, Priority Plus and Health Care
Plus. Healthy refreshments will be provided. This program is

“NOVI NEEDLERS” QUILTING
GROUP
Give back to the community by joining sewers and
non-sewers who create beautiful quilts to be donated to
various agencies such as First Step, Catholic Social Services,
Denby House and the Salvation Army. Novi Needlers meet the 2nd
and 4th Wednesday of each month. Fabric donations welcome, 100%
cotton only. Over 282 quilts donated in 2009.

The South American
dance is cropping up everywhere and with good reason – it is an

Basic and Gold is that Gold is a lower intensity, not as fast,

The program provides a safe and secure mode of travel for you,
allowing you to continue a healthy, active lifestyle. Novi
residents age 55 and older and those with disabilities are
eligible for this program. Transportation is available for
medical appointments, shopping and trips to the center. An
appointment is required. Remember the earlier you call for an
appointment, the better your chance of getting the time you

Day and Extended Trips
Stop by the Novi Senior Center to pick up flyers on the 60+ day
and extended trips we offer. Register for all trips at the Novi
Senior Center. Make checks payable to travel company offering the
trip. Sorry, NO cash. Most trips depart from the Novi Civic Center
parking lot. Tour companies require a minimum of ten (10) passengers
in order to pick up at our location. Please arrive a minimum of 20
minutes prior to departure and park your vehicle in the rear of the
parking lot closest to the tennis courts in order to reserve “up
close” parking for persons doing short term business with the City.
