MICHIGAN NATURAL RESOURCES TRUST FUND GRANT

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Novi will hold a Public Hearing on the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) Grant Application Proposal for land acquisition of parcel 50-22-31-200-021, for 20.31 acres of property located on Nine Mile Road, west of Garfield Road.  The hearing will be held 7 p.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 10 Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48375, for the purpose of hearing public comments on land acquisition of parcel 50-22-31-200-021, for 20.31 acres of property located on Nine Mile Road, west of Garfield Road.

All interested citizens are requested to attend these hearings

Comments will also be received in writing or in person at the City Clerk’s Office – City of Novi, 45175 10 Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48375 until 5 p.m. March 27, 2017.

NOTICE OF PROVISION OF THE
SNOW EMERGENCY ORDINANCE

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in accordance with Chapter 33, Article III, Division 5 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Novi, Michigan, a snow emergency shall be deemed to exist whenever:  (1) freezing rain, sleet or four (4) or more inches of snow has been forecasted for the area by a newspaper circulated in the city, or by a radio or television station with a normal operating range covering the city; or (2) freezing rain or sleet has fallen or four (4) or more inches of snow have accumulated in the city.  

Whenever any vehicle without an operator is found parked or left in violation of any provision of this Division, the Director of the Department of Public Services, or his designee, or the Police Department may immediately remove the vehicle or cause the vehicle to be removed to a place of safekeeping at the expense of the registered owner of the vehicle.  

Failure to comply with the requirements set forth in Chapter 33, Article III, Division 5 of the Code of Ordinances, City of Novi, Michigan may also result in the prosecution for same, and liability to the extent of the penalty therein provided.

ORDINANCE NO. 16-173.05

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE NOVI CITY COUNCIL HAS ADOPTED ORDINANCE NO. 16-173.05 TO AMEND THE CITY OF NOVI CODE OF ORDINANCES, AT CHAPTER 26.5, “PERFORMANCE GUARANTEES” IN ORDER TO COMPREHENSIVELY AMEND THE REQUIREMENTS OF THE ORDINANCE IN GENERAL AS TO AUTHORIZATION, FORM AND AMOUNT, AND THE NATURE AND EFFECT OF THE GUARANTEES, AND TO AMEND THE SPECIFIC PROCESSES FOR THE ACCEPTANCE, RELEASE, AND FORFEITURE OF THE GUARANTEES.

The Ordinance was adopted by the City Council on Monday, March 28, 2016 and the provisions of the ordinance shall become effective fifteen (15) days after its adoption.  A complete copy of the Ordinance is available for public use and inspection at the office of the City Clerk, 45175 Ten Mile Road, during the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., prevailing local time.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Novi will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Novi Civic Center,  45175 Ten Mile Road, Novi, MI to consider:

The applicant is requesting variances from the City of Novi Zoning Ordinance Section 3.1.5.d to allow construction of a second floor addition to an existing nonconforming residence with reduced side yard setbacks (10 feet required, 4 feet and 8 feet proposed) and aggregate side yard setback (30 feet required, 12 feet proposed).  The property is zoned R-4.

The applicant is requesting a variance from the CITY OF NOVI, CODE OF ORDINANCES; Section 28-5(3) and 28-1 to allow installation of (2) oversize wall signs of 139 and 132 Square feet where a single sign or 65 square feet is allowed by right.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Novi will hold a Public Hearing on the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) Grant Application Proposal for land acquisition of parcel 50-22-30-476-005, for 12.57 acres of property located on Nine Mile Road, west of Garfield Road.  The hearing will be held 7 p.m. Monday, March 14, 2016, at the Novi Civic Center, 45175 10 Mile Road, Novi, Michigan 48375, for the purpose of hearing public comments on land acquisition of parcel 50-22-30-476-005, for 12.57 acres of property located on Nine Mile Road, west of Garfield Road.
