CONTACT: Sheryl Walsh, Community Relations Manager, 248- 735-5628
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NOVI, Michigan, February 21, 2008 - Interested in policy
decisions in Novi as they happen, but don't have cable television?
Or maybe you are not a Novi community member or traveling when a
meeting is occurring? Beginning February 25, 2008, internet users
can log on to cityofnovi.org and
view live streaming of City
Council Meetings. Additionally, Planning Commission, Zoning
Board of Appeals, Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission and
Library Board meetings will be video streamed live.
For more than a year, Novi has been hosting on-demand City
Council video streams. Only City Council meetings will continue to
be stored on the website for 90 days. Additionally, meetings are
broadcast live via the City's government access cable channel 13,
with City Council meetings being replayed on Channel 13 on Sunday
evenings at 7:00pm.
The addition of live video streaming is an enhancement to the
City's website program offerings. The website also hosts all Channel
13 programming, including Update Novi, The Briefing Room, Fire House
No.VI, Corporate Review, and Faces & Places.
With more than 1,000 visits each day, cityofnovi.org is a key
component in building Novi's e-government infrastructure. Visitors
can find a wealth of information about the Novi community, doing
business in Novi, events, public safety, and more. For example, the
Doing Business pages were recently redesigned, making economic
development information more accessible through easier navigation.
An available properties and share your story sections were also
added.
The website is hosted by Municipal Web Services. For more
information, contact Community Relations at 248-735-5628.
