Press Release: Novi Police search for missing
child
11-year old reported taken from home

Novi, Michigan, January 20, 2008 – At approximately, 5:30pm, the
Novi Police Department responded to a 911 call stating that an
11-year-old had been taken from his residence in the Wexford
Townhomes.

The grandmother and legal guardian reported her grandson, Kakliel
Nashl, had been taken by Ursula Purry, his biological mother, and
Darius Martin, Purry’s 19-year-old son. The grandmother stated the
suspects forced their way into her home, demanded money and ordered
the child into a black Bronco-type vehicle being driven by an
unidentified third suspect. The suspect vehicle drove away in an
unknown direction, possibly into the City of Detroit.
The victim, Kakliel Nashl, is described as an 11-year-old,
African American male. He is approximately 5’3" tall and 75 pounds.
He has short, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing
blue jeans and a white t-shirt.
The first suspect, Ursula Purry, is described as a 35-year-old,
African American female. She is 5’5" tall and weighs approximately
135 pounds. She has shoulder-length, black hair, and brown eyes. The
second suspect, Darius Martin, is described as a 19-year-old,
African American male.
Shortly before 9:00pm, the Michigan State Police activated the
Amber Alert Plan in response to a request from the Novi Police
Department regarding the incident.
The incident is under investigation by the Novi Police
Department. Anyone with information regarding the incident should
