Two Dead In Drowning Tragedy At Apartment Complex Pool

NOVI, Mich., May 30, 2017 – The Novi Police Department continues to investigate the fatal drowning of two Novi residents who were found unconscious in the community pool at the Glens of Northville apartment complex late Tuesday afternoon.
The Novi Emergency Communications Center received a call from an employee of the Glens of Northville apartment complex at 4:24 p.m. advising there were two unconscious subjects in the pool. Novi Police and Fire personnel were immediately dispatched and performed lifesaving efforts on both individuals upon arrival. The victims were then transported to St. John Providence – Providence Park Hospital, Novi Campus where they were later pronounced dead.
The adult victim is a 31-year-old male, and the second victim is his 3-year-old son, both resided in the apartment complex. They were first discovered by residents walking into the clubhouse who then alerted staff to the possible drowning. The Oakland County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct a post-mortem examination on Wednesday, May 31 at which time more information may be released.
