NOVI, Mich., April 12, 2017 – Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services is proud to offer a year-round art exhibition schedule in the Novi Civic Center Atrium. The 2017 schedule includes many local artists, and during the months of April and May will host to some very talented high school artists.

Malcolm Wang, student photographer, is the artist for the April exhibit which will be up through April 28. This Novi resident has Autism and applied for the show in hopes that he could help bring awareness and acceptance for people with autism during National Autism Awareness Month.

“I want people to see how much I love photography and how beautiful the world is. People with Autism need help learning sometimes. People with Autism can contribute beautiful things to the world. I hope that my art can help people think about how people with Autism can be included in everyday activities,” Wang wrote in his artist statement. His artwork is available for sale at the Novi Parks office during regular business hours.

The Atrium will host the Novi High School Select Art Show from May 4 through June 2. This is the high school’s eighth annual exhibit at the Novi Civic Center and will showcase the top artwork from the school year. This juried, multimedia exhibit includes a variety of media including painting, ceramics, photography, metal work, and digital media. An opening for the show will be on May 5 from 6-7 p.m. in the Novi Civic Center Atrium and the community is invited to attend at no cost.
