World’s largest interiors supplier to invest $8.4 million, bring 280 employees and add 60 jobs

NOVI, Mich., January 18, 2017 – The City of Novi continues to be a major player in the global market, this time attracting the southeast Michigan headquarters of Yanfeng Automotive Interiors to the long vacant DMC building on Twelve Mile Road.

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors is the world’s leading supplier of instrument panels and cockpit systems, door panels, floor consoles, overhead consoles, lighting and decorative trim. The organization will use the Novi facility as its southeast Michigan headquarters where regional functional groups including finance, purchasing, sales, and engineering will be located, as well as employees focused on instrument panel engineering and testing. The global company will be investing $8.45 million into the new facility, bringing over approximately 280 existing full-time employees, with plans to add 60 new jobs.

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors joins Canada’s Magna Seating, United States’ Harman International and Japan’s Daifuku as companies that have moved their headquarters to Novi recently.

“We are extremely excited to have Yanfeng Automotive Interiors join a robust group of international businesses which see the value in investing in Novi,” said Mayor Bob Gatt. “We are proud of our reputation as an open and inclusive City where businesses thrive, and we look forward to helping Yanfeng Automotive Interiors prosper for many years to come.”

Yanfeng Automotive Interiors chose Novi over competing sites and also was awarded a $600,000 Michigan Business Development Program performance-based grant from the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

The City of Novi is home to more than 1,000 international companies and was ranked one of MONEY magazine’s “Best Places to Live” in 2016. To learn more about Novi’s business community, visit
