The Novi Public Safety Administration would like to congratulate Officer Julie Warren on her nomination and selection as the Novi Public Safety Employee of the Month – May 2017. Officer Warren was nominated by Assistant Chief Erick Zinser along with Officer Robert Manar and selected by the Implementation Committee for her leadership and commitment in preparation for our agency’s annual open house.
Officer Warren was asked to organize and oversee the police department’s involvement with the 2017 Novi Palooza hosted on Friday, May 19th. Officer Warren enthusiastically accepted this assignment and embraced the challenge of managing the efforts of 19 employees and 14 volunteers. Officer Warren coordinated with 16 different police agencies to display their patrol vehicles, including the 100 year anniversary Michigan State Police Dodge Charger. Specialty vehicles were also on show from our partners at the Drug Enforcement Administration, Michigan State Police Crime Lab & Bomb Squad, as well as the Postal Inspector and the West Bloomfield Police Department MRAP.
In preparation for the event Officer Warren meticulously synchronized over twenty activities and games for children. Thanks to her planning and hard work, kids enjoyed competitive police and fire tricycle and cozy coupe rides, a hand cuff toss, paintball, laser tag, and many more activities. Parents could register their children’s’ bicycles and move on to juvenile fingerprinting provided by the United States Secret Service. For those who were hungry, there was a donut eating contest and more than 1080 slices of pizza were served.
Officer Warren championed this event in an incredible fashion; donating her personal time to planning and working the event; even though it was her day off and her son’s birthday. Thanks to Officer Warren, Novi Palooza was an enormous success. Through her leadership and commitment to the Novi Police Department, Officer Warren has set a great example for others to follow.
The Novi Public Safety Administration applaud Officer Warren on her outstanding work ethic and allegiance to our community and organization and congratulate her on being named Public Safety Employee of the Month - May 2017.
