Shredding Saturdays

First Saturday Every Month, 9am-12pm

Through a partnership with Corrigan Record Storage, Novi residents may recycle up to 300 pounds with NAID Certified Secured Shredding for a $5 fee. Over 300 pounds is $.05 per pound. Hard drive destruction is available for a $5 fee.

Novi Youth Council

In summer 2005, the Novi Youth Council adopted a policy resolution encouraging Novi youth to become civically active within the community as members of the Nov Youth Council. Each year the Novi City Council interviews and appoints school students to the Youth Council. The 21-member council is charged with making recommendations to the City Council concerning the needs of children, youth and families in the city and the appropriate means by which public and private agencies in cooperation with volunteer efforts may address such needs. The two year term will begin July 2018 and go through Dec 2019. Pumpkinfest at Tollgate Farm

Come, take a wagon ride to the pumpkin patch to pick your perfect pumpkin. Food, music, farm animals, educational exhibits, and children’s activities all make for a fun fall outing for all ages. The Novi and Walled Lake Public Libraries will participate in this special fundraiser for educational programming at the farm with story times throughout the day and children’s authors reading their stories. In addition to a children’s straw maze and pumpkin bowling, we’ll have antique tractors and the MSU Bug House. Jeff Pavlik returns to the farm with a foodways reenactment near the pumpkin patch. Entry, educational exhibits, children’s Strawland and music are free of charge. Tickets sold for cash or credit for pumpkins, food, and select children’s activities. Parking is $5.

Household Hazardous Waste Day

American Girl Slumber Party

Each attendee will make an ID bracelet for themselves and their doll, and then get comfy in their sleeping bag with popcorn and a drink. We will watch the movie Lea to the Rescue. Turning Teen: Being My Best Self

Being My Best Self is the 2nd Turning Teen workshop for girls. The first program in the series is recommended, but not required for attendance. This program is recommended for girls ages 10 and up OR girls who have started puberty. Being My Best Self is a mother daughter workshop, intended to help facilitate and continue important conversations about body changes at home. Girls will learn important tips about taking care of and respecting their bodies, including information about skin care, shaving, bras and details about period and period care. After the program, there is an interactive activity to help girls understand how to use tampons and pads. Chili Chilly Softball Showdown

Join us for the 3rd annual Chili Chilly Softball Showdown! The co-ed event will feature one pitch per at bat, prizes for all participants and a lunch featuring koney dogs from Kerby’s Koney Island. Must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Teams will take part in a double elimination format with games lasting six innings. Novi Youth Assistance – Adopt-a-family

The holiday season is just around the corner! Once again, Novi Youth Assistance (NYA) has partnered with the Novi Goodfellows to coordinate efforts to serve as many families as possible. NYA is looking for families to participate in “adopting-a-family” for 2017. Adopt a family is a program designed to assist the low income families living in Novi during the holiday season. Take a Kid Mountain Biking

TKMTB is an event, developed and coordinated by International Mountain Biking Association, (IMBA), strives to encourage communities around the world to join together and ride mountain bikes with youth. Over the years we’ve had tens of thousands of kids participate from across the globe, including: Italy, Australia, South Africa, Canada, Malaysia, and Mexico. Informal or formal, one child or 100 children, TKMTB celebrates the joy of riding in the dirt. We will have four trail courses of varying levels, including a longer course with a pump track and more advanced trail features, as well as a grassy skills course including wooden bridges for kids to practice on. The MCMBA will provide tasty food hot off our swanky grill for your enjoyment!Location: Lakeshore Park
