Corrigan Record Storage offers Novi residents the opportunity to recycle up to 300 pounds of paper for a $5 charge, NAID Certified Secured Shredding.  The fee for more than 300 pounds is $0.10 per pound.  Hard drive destruction is also available for a $5 fee.

Novi Half Marathon

Sunday, 6:30-11am

The 4th annual Novi Half Marathon event offers a Half Marathon, 10K & 5K. Courses are fl at & fast with scenic views of beautiful “Island Lake” ran on both paved and country roads. The day will also feature a DJ at the start/ finish area. The Sponsor Expo with packet pickup & late registration will be held the day of the race from 6:45 to 8:30am. Race participants will receive a high quality Leslie Jordan brand long-sleeve Tech Shirt. All participants receive Finisher Medals. Age group awards are provided in the Half Marathon,10K & 5K events. A portion of the proceeds will go to the Novi Parks Foundation and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute. Free bus shuttles to and from the Novi Middle School will be offered.

Price: $34 for the 5K, $39 for the 10K, and $48 for the Half Marathon (Before March 8, 2017). Prices rise to: $37, $42, and $51 until April 28.

MLB Pitch, Hit & Run

Pitch, Hit & Run™ is the official youth skills competition of Major League Baseball ®. This free competition is an opportunity for young baseball and softball players to prove their ability to pitch, hit and run among the best in their age group. Players advance through three rounds of competition and compete in the National Finals on an all-expense paid trip to the MLB All-Star Game in San Diego, California. Finalists will compete on field prior to shagging fly balls during the Home Run Derby and attend the All-Star Game. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Greg Morris at 248.735.5646.

Jedi Training

Participants will learn different skills and moves to be able to fight off the  dark side. Novi Memorial Day Run

The day’s festivities will include a 10K starting at 8am, 5K starting at 8:15am and a mile fun run starting at 9am. Participants can register by visiting www.novimemorialdayrun.com . A part of the proceeds benefits the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute and the Novi Parks Foundation. If you bring a canned food item, are a Veteran, or are a returning runner from a year ago, you can save $5 on your registration fee. In 2016, more than 900 runners participated and it made for a great day. Participants will receive a free shirt and medal for registering. Following the race, stay for the Memorial Day Parade and showcase your community pride!

Turning Teen

Turning Teen provides age appropriate, medically accurate information about puberty in an engaging and relaxed manner. We strive to initiate a healthy dialogue between parent and child early; allowing for conversations to continue as your child grows. This educational, interactive workshop is ideal for girls before puberty starts or at the beginning of puberty. This is an introduction to your body and its parts, the difference between boys and girls, physical and emotional changes that happen during puberty, rules for body respect, emotions and more. Take A Kid Mountain Biking Day

This family-friendly event will introduce kids to mountain biking using the trail system at Lakeshore Park, including the Sapling Loop. All skill levels are welcome. The Motor City Mountain Biking Association will provide swag, snacks and drinks. Helmets are required and riding with a parent is encouraged.

Novi Night Group Mountain Bike Rides

Weather Permitting

Novi Nights is a beginner-friendly group ride hosted by the Motor City Mountain Biking Association. The ride has stopping points to regroup along the Lakeshore Park mountain bike trail. All skill levels are welcome. Riders often enjoy a post ride gathering at the nearby Lakeview Bar and Grill.

Motor City Mountain Biking Association & Team Tree Farm Tree Farm Relay

The 12th anniversary of this race promises to include even more fun. This is the same format you have all grown to love… a unique 4-person team relay race! The course features lots of hills, passing zones and fun! This is a perfect race for the beginner looking to see what team / endurance racing is all about and for experienced racers looking to test their skills against rival teams. If you want to try an endurance race, but aren’t ready for the distance, try this race to see what the team racing concept is all about.

Join us for the final outdoor concert and movie of the season presented by Park It. The evening will be filled with lots of family fun activities; face painting, bounce house, giveaways and so much more. A food truck and Kona Ice truck will be onsite for you to purchase delicious treats. The band will start at 6:30pm and “Finding Dory” will start playing at 8pm. Make sure you get there early to get the best seat in the house.

Novi Ambassador Academy

Wednesdays, 6-8pm
September 6-October 25

The Novi Ambassador Academy is an eight-week course that allows residents of Novi to become “students” and examine the inner workings of City government. Students will hear from staff, tour facilities, and engage in the collaborative City governing process. At the end of the course, students will have a greater understanding of how the City of Novi works for its citizens.

Classes are presented weekly at various Novi locations. The sessions are led by City department representatives and often include a hands-on approach to learning about specific services. A graduation reception is included at the conclusion of the Novi Ambassador Academy on Wednesday, October 25. For more information, please call the Community Relations Department at 248.735.5628.
