Summer Campp

CAMP LAKESHORE

A part of the City of Novi fabric for many years, Camp Lakeshore offers hours of fun and exciting activities for campers using the wide open spaces and waterfront of Lakeshore Park. Participants will create delicious treats, build contraptions, experience nature frst-hand and share in zany science experiments. Campers will also enjoy water sports, relay races, kickball, soccer and much more.

Novi Travel Camp

Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm
Aug 20-24

Come join the City of Novi Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department and travel daily to a different location for a fun field trip. Some of the locations we will travel to include Paradise Park, Legoland, Archery and much more. Participants will participate in various camp activities (kickball, soccer, arts and crafts, relay races and water games) before and after leaving for trips.

Carousel Acres – Day Camp on the Farm

Campers will experience life on the farm with brushing, feeding and caring for miniature horses and donkeys, calves, goats, sheep, bunnies, chickens ducks and more! They will ride ponies, spin wool, make crafts, play games, garden and cook. Carousel Acres has amazing animals from “the land down under”, butterfly house, reindeer, alpacas, and llamas too.

All campers must bring lunch, water bottle, closed toe shoes, sunscreen, swimsuit, life jacket (if needed)
and towel, please label with your child’s name. Latchkey is available before and after camp. For more

Kids EmpoweredGirls and Boys Empowered/ Kids Empowered has provided empowerment programs for thousands of children for over 19 years. Each camp is designed to focus on different self-esteem and confidence building activities, social skills, and practical strategies to deal with the issues kids face with their friends and classmates at recess, in the lunch room, in the hallways, and in LIFE! We teach the Kids Empowered curriculum through interactive games, role playing, crafts, poster activities, team building, and physical fitness. Emotional Intelligence matters, learning these skills and strategies can benefit every kid no matter what their level of confidence. Each week has a different focus and themed activities. Wildwind Equestrian Center – Horse Camp

Learn a healthy sport that develops physical fitness and builds confidence. Wildwind has more than 30 horses trained for students. Riders from beginner to jump levels will be split into different groups according to ability. Grooming, tacking, feeding, and medical care will be taught for each level. The camp experience is rounded out with a horse show and potluck lunch on Friday for family and friends. All participants must fill out a Wildwind Liability Form. All riders must wear full length pants, a sturdy shoe with complete foot coverage.

Wildwind Equestrian Center – Tiny Tot Horse Camp

Young children ages 4-6 will get a hands-on introduction to riding. Each group riding lesson of six students will be attended by an instructor and helpers. Tiny Tots learn grooming, saddling, horse colors and more. Miniature horses are just the right size for the children to learn groundwork on. Games, bathing and feeding round-out the camp experience. Thursday at noon there will be a show for the family and friends of Tiny Tot riders. All participants must fill out a Wildwind Liability Form. All riders must wear full length pants, a sturdy shoe with complete foot coverage.

SciensationalAssertiveness Boot Camp

Being assertive is a life skill every girl needs to have in dealing with unfriendly friends, bullies, in negotiating, handling conflict, setting boundaries, to be taken seriously, and getting their needs met. Girls will learn and practice being assertive in their words, voice, and body language through role-playing and crafts. This camp will help all girls no matter what their confidence level is including girls who may be too aggressive in how they communicate to those who don’t use their voice at all. Role playing, games, crafts and fitness included. Campers bring a snack and beverage in non-breakable container.

CUSTOMER APPRECIATION OPEN HOUSE

Every year, the Ice Arena hosts an open house in appreciation of all of our customers. This year’s event will be on Wed, Aug 29. There will be free open skating, free sticks and pucks, a Try Hockey for Free clinic, and raffles, games, and vendor tables. Open registration for all fall programming will also be available. More information will be posted on the ice arena website in early August.

LEARN TO SKATE

Come be a part of one of the largest Learn to Skate programs in the country! Our program follows the curriculum of the U. S. Figure Skating program. Lessons are given by highly qualified professional skating instructors. All classes consist of 30 minutes of instruction with an additional 30 minutes of practice time. All skaters will also receive a Public Skate punch card for a limited number of free admissions. Classes are offered for people of all ages; times and days vary to fit your schedule.

Hockey Development Program

The Hockey Development Program is a great way for kids to learn the basic skills to get started in the great sport of hockey. Theater CampCultural Arts Camps Before and After Care

Mon-Fri,
7-9am and 4-6pm

For parents interested in childcare before and after camp sessions, optional care will be provided from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm (3-6pm for Young Stars).

Price: $50 per week, includes 7-9am and 4-6pm
Location: Either the Novi Civic Center or Township Hall depending on the camp

Rock Stars & Divas Dance Camp

Mon-Thu, 12-3pm

Boost your confidence and work on your dance moves while having fun and making friends! Get ready for fun activities, games and much more. Any outfit is fine as long as they are able to move and dance freely, sneakers mandatory.

Young Stars “Choose Your Own Musical Theatre Adventure” Camp

In this camp designed especially for preschool and early elementary students, participants will not only learn about a musical theater production but choose a few elements of their own to add (songs, setting, etc. ) as a way to create a new piece together. Students will learn and grow with support from our great instructors. A short, final and free performance for parents (mandatory) will occur at 3pm on Friday at the Novi Civic Center. Students should bring a lunch and snack each day.
