We will enjoy cake and ice cream as we wish you a very special day that celebrates everything about your life, paying the ultimate tribute to your greater than 8 decades+ of trials, tribulations, triumphs and tales. AARP is partnering with City of Novi Older Adult Services to offer a comprehensive driver refresher course geared toward the specific needs of the older motorist 55+. Fall Prevention Awareness throughout September

Fall Prevention Awareness Day (FPAD) will be observed on Sep 22, 2018 - the first day of fall. Preventing falls is one of the most important things you can do to maintain your independence. There are aspects of your health and how you behave, as well as, things in your surroundings that you can change to reduce your chances of falling. Senior Horseback Riding Lessons

Whether you’ve never ridden a horse before or you’re an expert, Wildwind will get you moving with the horses. A one hour English riding lesson is the equivalent of a 45 minute aerobic workout. Many people with joint problems, arthritis, and low muscle tone improve their overall health by therapeutic riding. Grooming and caring for your horse is a pleasure everyone enjoys. Extended mounting blocks are used to make it easy to get on and off your horse. Wildwind offers many clinics for seniors to get more involved. A certified therapeutic riding instructor will teach the class and make sure everyone is moving in the right direction. All riders must wear full length pants, and sturdy shoe with complete foot coverage. There is a 200lb weight limit for this class. No class July 4.

Let Us Do the Driving!

The City of Novi’s Senior Transportation Program provides specialized transportation for residents of Novi ages 55 and older, or those younger than 55 with a limiting disability. The service cannot accommodate children. Vehicles are scheduled based on the needs of each passenger, location, time and the use of a lift-equipped bus, van or car. Trips are scheduled in the most efficient, cost-effective way using specific parameters that schedules multiple riders in the same vehicle at the same time.

Be independent and continue a healthy, active lifestyle. Rides available for medical appointments, shopping, enrichment and fitness classes, afternoon of playing cards or special events, going to the Novi Public Library, Meadowbrook Activity Center or Novi Civic Center.

All ride requests will be granted based on availability. Call 248.735.5617 between 7am-4pm Mon-Fri. Reservations required at
least one (1) day in advance. Make appointments anytime day or night by email. State name, address, phone number, destination address, date, times (pick-up & return) for your trip.
