 MDOT to hold I-96 Corridor Study open house in Novi, Tuesday, March
23, 2010 - 2:00-4:00pm & 6:00-8:00pm
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting an open house-style
meeting to provide an overview on the I-96 Corridor Study that is being
co-sponsored by the city of Novi. Interested stakeholders will have the

Andy Gerecke presents Julie Farkas, Director of the Novi Public
Library, a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy for the New
Library building. The Grand Opening Celebration will be held on
Saturday, June 26.

 Flashlight Egg Hunt - Wednesday, March 24,
2010 - 7:30pm
Spring almost here and with it comes baskets filled with candy
and egg hunts. With a basket in one hand and a flashlight in
the other, kids will set off in search of eggs filled with candy,
toys and other goodies. After the flashlight egg hunt, your child
will be able to create a craft, have a picture taken with the Easter
bunny, play on an inflatable bouncer and enjoy a snack.

Questionnaire Assistance Centers
Questionnaire Assistance Centers (QAC) will be available to assist
those unable to read or understand the census form. For those with
visual impairments, Language Assistance Guides will be available in
large print and Braille.

CERT Graduates!
On March 13, 2010 the seventh
class of Novi’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) completed
their training and graduated from the program. This class consisted
of 16 volunteers who received 24 hours of hands-on classroom
instruction. This brings the total number of active CERT volunteers
to 195.

 City of Novi Receives Federal
Grant Dollars to Increase Energy Efficiency - Novi has long been a
proponent of eco-friendly initiatives and grant award will further
enhance efforts
The City of Novi is a recipient of the Energy Efficiency and
Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) in the amount of $533,100 from the
Department of Energy. Funding for this program was made available
through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act signed into law
February 17, 2009.

Spring is just around the corner and soon children of all ages will
be playing soccer on the numerous fields in Novi, with friends and
family cheering them on. And, anyone who knows soccer, or any team
sport for that matter, knows a winning team is made up of a sound
offense and sound defense. It takes both to make a successful team.
It may sound simple, but that is how we are looking at this
year’s budget and the challenges which lie ahead here in Novi.

partnered to enhance Novi’s health with the first-ever Emergency
