52nd District Court - 1st Division is located in Novi and serves a population of approximately 175,000 in the Townships of White Lake, Rose, Highland, Milford, Lyon, Novi and Commerce; Cities of Novi, South Lyon, Wixom and Walled Lake; and Villages of Milford and Wolverine Lake. The 52nd District Court is now offering a service to the public in an effort to make paying tickets more convenient. Civil Infraction tickets (some exceptions apply) may be paid by VISA or MasterCard at the Oakland County website.
Hon. Robert Bondy
Judge Robert Bondy was elected to the 52nd District Court 1st Division as a district judge in November of 2002 and has served continually since said time.
Judge Bondy received his Juris Doctorate Degree, cum laude, from Detroit College of Law (now at Michigan State University) on January 28, 1985. He earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree, with honors, in Criminal Justice, from Michigan State University, June 6, 1980. He has also completed other graduate study courses in public administration at Wayne State University. Judge Bondy was admitted to practice law in Michigan on May 17, 1988 and before the Supreme Court of the United States of America on May 15, 1989.
Judge Bondy is an active member of the State Bar of Michigan and served as a hearing panelist on the District J Committee for Character and Fitness for 12 years and also served on the Michigan Judicial Crossroads Taskforce Business Court Committee. Since being elected, Judge Bondy has served a term as president of the Oakland County District Court Judges Association. Judge Bondy is a current member of the Michigan District Court Judges Association and Oakland County District Court Judges Association.
While a judge at the 52nd District Court 1st Division, Judge Bondy helped establish the Minor in Possession / Consuming Alcohol Court/Program and has been involved extensively in the court’s Sobriety Court/Drug Court Program. Judge Bondy has been involved in the movement and creation in the court’s community service program establishing a garden for community service workers out of Kensington Metropark which grows and provides food to the shelters, food pantries, corrections, and senior citizens.
